About Us

Our Story

Rockland Farm has been part of the Bolton community for over 90 years. Leonard L and Alice Giglio began farming on South Road in the 1930s. They worked tirelessly to clear the land, milk cows, and Leonard L delivered milk door-to-door.

In the late 1960s, Leonard M and Karen Giglio took over the daily operation and raised their two sons on the farm. They belonged to a co-op which picked up the milk in bulk and transported it to wherever the milk was needed. Leonard M, Karen, and their sons farmed the family land to provide feed for their dairy herd and any locals who needed it. Leonard M milked cows and remained an active part of the Bolton community until his death in 2017. After his father’s death, Leonard W. Giglio (Lenny) attempted to maintain the dairy operation. Unfortunately, his father’s estate was held up in Probate and the dairy operations were forced to close in 2019.

Lenny and his wife Cheryl Giglio have been farming the family land for many years and continue to do so today, offering quality hay/feed to locals for their animals. In 2022, Lenny and Cheryl made a commitment to put cows back in the barn and began raising/selling beef on the farm. As local customers were struggling with rising costs and inflation, purchasing a 1/4, 1/2 or whole cow to provide good locally grown beef to their families seemed out of reach for many. In 2024, we opened the shop on the family farm to allow everyone the opportunity to feed their family locally grown beef…from our farm to your family directly.
